no, and thanks for bringing that up. will have to look for it. have you heard anything about it?
kerry was not only my good friend but my housemate. i'm very curious how much the bio will talk about how mind controlled kerry was. a very sticky subject, but very important to his whole life. in spite of that, he was able to be a very funny man, and keep his sanity even when the things he said about his mind control would make many people assume he wasn't sane. he was a humble man, impish, and loved his cats, of which he had more than i could count. i loved kerry very much. he told me that the good thing about being a discordian was that we never had to have meetings and rituals and didn't have to hang out with other discordians. but we decided to have the "only" ritual, anyway, which was bizarrely magical thanks to his cats. i should post the ritual sometime.

Indeed, please, tell us which 'only' ritual that was. I'm eager to avoid performing it so I can ensure my nonconformity.

all i have to go by as far as it being the only ritual is that he said one part of being a discordian is never doing discordian rituals and it had therefore never been done before officially. but i'm sure people do them all the time, anyway. so, the one to avoid doing is this--
the part i remember is that i made an eris out of butter, and put it on the floor in his room. 13 cats got in a circle around it to lick it, which didn't give them much room. so i guess that's why they felt a compulsion to keep moving, and they all moved around it in a counterclockwise direction at a semi regular pace, while all the while maintaining constant contact with the eris goddess. we were amazed and delighted.

What do those weirdo pagan witch people call counterclockwise? Isn't it 'widdershins' or something screwy like that? Maybe that's a sign that we should all always move counterclockwise when we lick an Eris image.

I for one am going to make an Eris image out of butter and spread it on my toast, rather than wasting it on a cat, who probably would understand it on a much higher level than I would anyway and hence it would be wasted.

Hi, Adam Gorightly here, author of "The Prankster and the Conspiracy: The Story of Kerry Thornley and How He Met Oswald and Inspired the Counterculture." Overall the book has been getting some great reviews, which you can check out on amazon.com, or here's one:
    www.angelfire.com/falcon/ho...ightly.htm

Here's the forward by Robert Anton Wilson:
    www.paraview.com/gorightly...xcerpt.htm

    And an excerpt:
    www.steamshovelpress.com/offli...3.html

In April, I did a book signing tour across the country, finishing it off in Atlanta at A Cappella Books in Little Five Points where Kerry used to live and work. While there I made further contacts with friends of Kerry's, which leads to my next endeavor, a followup to the "Prankster and The Conspiracy" tentatively entitled "Kerry in Little Five Points" which will look at Kerry's life in his later years. This project will be less ambitious than "The Prankster...". I'm basically looking at doing a fifty page chapbook. In this regard, I was happy to see the posts by Tantra, and would like to interview her about Kerry. So Tantra, if you're out there, drop me a line at adamgorightly@yahoo.com.

BTW, I will be a guest on Rob McConnell’s “X” Zone Radio Show on November 27th @ 10:00 pm to 2:00 am EST talking about "The Prankster and the Conspiracy".

You can listen live at www.xzone-radio.com/

I definitely NEED to read this book.

I've always been fascinated with the "true" story behind Discordianism. The weird synchronistic link between Thornley and Oswald is even more coincidental for me because I spent 3 and a half years of my wayward youth wishing I was somewhere other than Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, CA. While I was there, I knew Oswald had been there, but I think the Discordian link was revealed to me later...

(I was there in the early 90's, too late to dig up any hot leads on the Kennedy caper...)

In any case, it made the scene in Full Metal Jacket where the Drill Instructor is bragging about all the nutjobs and assassins that the Marine Corps has turned out all the more surreal.

          Semper Fidelis, ergo Non Serviam!
          Hail Eris!!!
          All Hail Discordia!!
          Or don't...
