I am new to this tribe and figured I had better get this out of the quick. I have had eris as a nickname, sometimes with the honorific "Lady" in front for about 8 years. I did not pick it just for Tribe.net or this tribe. Many people in my life only call me this. I am not asking for approval, I just am trying to avoid instant flaming for being "wanna be" or somthing, ok? The name was, of course, chosen due to my interest in discord and Eris, so I won't try to wiggle out of that part! :)

Oh well, doesn't matter, you can be Eris. Not up to me to bitch if the name doesn't suit you, she (the goddess) will sure enough intervene if she doesn't like it. And if it suits her that you choose Eris as your nom-de plume then perhaps it'd be a HUGE mistake to give you flak about it, (though giving you FLAX about it should be A-OK ;) !!!!
You're the best, don't let anyone tell ya otherwise, even though I dont' know you and have no basis for saying such. Unreasonable narcissistic notions of self divinity has thus empowered many to greatness both in acheivement and foolishness, probably even more in both at the same time, and some just close one eye and fart and wonder if it did anything at all.
I would assume, you'll get flamed not on the basis of what you call yourself, but your ideas. And to my knowledge I don't know of anyone that has been flamed in this tribe as of yet.
Hmmm, are we lacking in discord? (Troubled look)
Ahhh, no, every hurricane must have an eye, a peaceful center that is the true essence of the chaos surrounding it. This tribe is the eye, thus it is peaceful.

My nom de plume "Retarius" referes to the type of Gladiator that fought with Net, Trident, and Dagger.
The strategy of the Retarius was to use their Armorless vulnerability to advantage (with speed and agility) against the heavily armored "secutor" who possessed a short sword.
I don't ever attack directly, I taunt, an encircle, I feign weakness, I ensnare, with trident I stab and wound without killing, only at the very end do I use the dagger when my opponent is tired.
COnsider that a metaphor to the person I am in real life. Eris needs her gladiators to entertain her, as every royal personage does.
And just know the wisdom I know from being what I am, weakness is as much of a strength as strength is, as Vulnerability is a stronger defense than strong defenses. -

Sat, April 3, 2004 - 9:24 PMWhen I first read about Eris, it was in the incarnation of the goddess of madness, and mazes. I have always been interested in madness, forensic psychology to be exact. Then, as I read more, and got into Discordianism, and the absolute NEED for chaos in the universe, to make changes in people and ways of thinking, I thought, That is SO AWESOME! When I got into BDSM and needed a "scene name" Lady eris was born.
Ask the question noone else should or would, see what happens!
